Yacht Construction

Building a yacht is like building a home — complex, detailed, and best handled by seasoned professionals.
Which engine? Which drive? Which shipyard — and why? Where to repair a failed part? How to properly communicate with the shipyard?

The range of questions is extremely broad, and the answers are not always straightforward, as much depends on your desires. For example, if you want a fast boat for weekend trips with a small company — that is one task. But if you want a comfortable vacation with your family for at least six months a year — that is a completely different matter.
The many years of professional experience of GO YACHTING’s specialists allow us not only to competently answer all your questions related to building a new boat, but also to take full responsibility for the final result.

Main stages of yacht construction

Building a yacht involves a huge number of nuances and subtleties and goes through many stages

Choosing the model and shipyard

Our task is to identify your needs, learn more about your taste preferences, and ensure the yacht meets all your requirements in terms of safety, technical equipment, design, and the tasks it will need to perform. The next step is to analyze the liquidity of the brand and model in the yacht market. The final stage when choosing a yacht may include a visit to the shipyard and a test run on the model you liked.
1

Define specification & options

At the yacht specification stage, it is necessary to rely on successful past experience in operating and building boats. We sail a lot ourselves and communicate with captains who provide quality feedback on the necessity of various options. It is important that the yacht is balanced and has everything needed, enhancing your experience on the water.
2

Exterior & interior design

Yacht designers can make the space on your yacht more efficient and the design more personalized. Working within the limited spaces on the boat, they find optimal solutions in color and volume, enhancing and emphasizing all details introduced by the shipyard in the project.

Select owner’s representative / surveyor

Based on personal experience, our company will help you choose the right professional to inspect the construction process. We work with people who have proven themselves in their work and can meet the client’s needs while building effective communication with the shipyard handling the project.
4

On-site build supervision & reporting

After successfully selecting a contractor, we create and agree on a schedule of visits by our representative to the shipyard where your future yacht is being built. The number of allowed visits, visit schedule, which specialists are involved, and how and when comments will be addressed — all this is handled by us.
5

Crew training at the shipyard

No matter how experienced your future captain is, it will be useful for them to undergo instruction and refresh their knowledge about the new yacht on site. We ensure that your captain receives training in a comfortable environment from the best shipyard specialists.

The acquired skills and knowledge will help them gain additional confidence, which will positively impact the quality of your time on board.
6

Factory acceptance & sea trials

Once the yacht is ready, our specialist performs a final inspection of all systems and mechanisms. Their duties include ensuring all comments during construction were addressed and that all wishes were taken into account. Sea trials are conducted to complete the acceptance process.
7

Handover & aftercare

When the yacht is ready, all equipment checked, and the captain in position and ready to operate, the handover takes place. Even after the champagne is drunk and the yacht is ready to delight the owner and host guests, our work does not end. The owner may still have many questions regarding yacht registration, yacht club selection, crew replacement, warranty service, and insurance. We are happy to provide answers to all these and other questions.
